If a student is planning to be gone for more than 5 days for excused reasons, obtain a form from the office to have their teachers fill out, which includes their missed homework for that period.

Attendance Communication

  • Students who have an absence or are tardy will receive an automated notification on that day.
  • The Aspire office staff will contact students with 2 unexcused absences to discuss attendance, including a brief check-in with the Aspire counselor to discuss the impacts on their attendance.
  • Students with 5 unexcused absences will meet with leadership to discuss attendance, including any supports that might be needed to help.
  • Letters will be sent home to families with unexcused absences reaching 2, 5, 9, 12, and 20 days.
  • Students with 12 unexcused absences will meet with leadership to review the plan developed at the 5-day meeting.
  • Students may be referred to the truancy board if attendance does not improve, and they need additional interventions beyond the plan developed at Aspire.
